Off-Ice Training
Off-ice training is vital to the development of on-ice skills and helps skaters to develop stronger, higher jumps and have stronger jump landings. It helps to develop stronger spins and better body position awareness. Figure skating requires flexibility, muscle strength, balance and coordination, mobility and range of motion of joints which are not generally trained on the ice. Proper off-ice training and conditioning reduces the risk of injury.
The class is open to all levels of STARSkate and to both in-club and out-of-club skaters. It has been designed and tailored to meet the needs of a skater's respective levels and will contain:

- Off ice jump and spin technique
- Strength and conditioning
- Balance and flexibility
Skaters are required to bring to each class:
- Water bottle
- Yoga mat
- Skipping rope
- Spinner
Attire:
- Shorts
- T-shirt
- Running shoes (without a wide sole as these can cause turned and sprained ankles in a jump class)
- Hair tied back out of eyes
