Off-Ice Training

Picture
Figure skating requires flexibility, muscle strength, balance and coordination, mobility and range of motion of joints which are not generally trained on the ice. Off-Ice Training is vital to the development of on-ice skills as it helps skaters to develop stronger, higher jumps and jump landings, more powerful spins and better body position awareness. Proper off-ice training and conditioning also reduces the risk of injury.

This program is designed for and open to all levels of STARSkate and to both in-club and out-of-club skaters.

Training includes:
  • Off ice jump and spin techniques
  • Exercises to improve strength and conditioning, balance and flexibility
