Registration Policy

SKATER REGISTRATION
  • Skaters must register in the appropriate category, level and program based on their qualifications at the time of registration. After registration, skaters will be notified only if there are any changes to the requested session times. The Club reserves the right to move skaters between levels based on their skating abilities.
  • The Club may adjust skaters’ ice times depending on registration numbers or cancel sessions if registration is insufficient. If a session is canceled or modified, a refund will be provided.
  • In certain cases, program registrations will be handled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Participants registered in our Power Skating programs are subject to an initial skill assessment. If a skater is deemed by our coaching staff not to meet the minimum skill level required for the program, the skater may be removed from the program at the discretion of the coaches. In such cases, a refund will be issued in accordance with our refund policy.

PAYMENT
  • Payment must be made online by credit card.
  • For STARSkate programs registration fees may be paid in installments for the Winter sessions only (October through March).
  • Payment for Fall, Spring and Summer skate sessions must be made on the date of registration.
  • Skate Canada fees must be paid at the time of registration.

WITHDRAWALS
  • Skaters may withdraw from a program and receive a refund, less a $25 administration fee, if the withdrawal request is made at least 5 business days prior to the first on-ice session.
  • Skaters may withdraw from registered sessions after the program start date for medical reasons. A prorated refund will be issued based on the number of sessions attended and the remaining sessions. A medical certificate must be provided to the Club Registrar.
  • Refunds are not provided for missed sessions due to vacation or scheduling conflicts.
  • For skaters in a CanSkate or PowerSkate program, a non-medical withdrawal may be granted after the program start date, provided the withdrawal request is made within the first 4 sessions of the program. In these circumstances a pro-rated refund, less a $25 administration fee, will be applied.
  • Please note: Skate Canada fees are non-refundable, as they are paid directly to Skate Canada upon registration and are not refundable to the Club.

OUTSTANDING FEES
All program fees, as well as any outstanding fees owed to the Club, must be paid before the start of the program or according to the installment schedule. Skaters with unpaid fees will not be permitted to participate in any sessions.

Skaters registering for an Assessment Day must ensure all outstanding fees are paid in full prior to the Assessment Day. These include, but are not limited to:
  • ice session or program registration fees
  • assessment fees
  • drop-in fees
  • Club clothing expenses
  • any other fees or monies owed to the Club

RELEASE AND WAIVER
By registering, the participant acknowledges and agrees that the Goulbourn Skating Club ("GSC") and its Executive Members, Agents, Directors, Officers, Coaches, and Volunteers are not responsible for any accidents, injuries, property damage, or losses, and releases the Club and its representatives from all claims arising from such incidents.
