Registration Policy and
Move Request Form
- At the time of registration, a skater may
only register for those sessions for which such skater is eligible
as at the registration date.
- After the registration sessions are finished
and after the date indicated on the program information sheets
as the date by which all registrations are due to avoid a late
fee charge, then skaters or coaches may request a move to a session
for which such skater is not yet qualified (a “Move
Request”
).
- All Move Requests must be submitted to the
Registrar and accompanied by a completed "Move
Request" form
,
signed by the requesting coach, and 2 additional coaches familiar
with the skater for whom the move is requested. If the number
of skaters already registered for that requested session is below
the maximum allowed and there are no safety concerns, then the
Registrar will approve the request and the skater can move to
the requested session.
- All Move Requests should be submitted to
the Registrar well in advance of the requested session. Until
the requested move is approved by the Registrar or the Move Committee,
if there is one (see paragraph 5 below), the skater may not skate
on the requested session.
- The Executive may form a “Move Committee”
comprised of the Registrar, the Coaching Representative and other
appropriate designated Executive members, to receive, review,
and approve or deny Move Requests. Numbers, age, level, skill
and ability of skaters on sessions and safety issues, if any,
will be taken into account when considering each Move Request.
This policy will ensure that priority is given
to those skaters who are eligible at the time of registration for
the appropriate sessions. It preserves the integrity of the breakdown
of qualifications for each level of skater and is consistent with
Goulbourn Skating Club’s concerns regarding safety and number
of skaters on the ice for each session.
