Welcome to the newly formed, Goulbourn Skating Club. In the beginning, the Richmond Skating Club operated out of the Richmond Arena & the Stittsville Skating Club operated out of the Stittsville Arena. When the Goulbourn Recreation Center was built, both clubs began offering skating programs at this new facility. In an effort to better serve its current members, and the needs of an ever-growing Ottawa West community, the two long-standing clubs decided to join and form a new club. The Goulbourn Skating Club is a member of a national association – Skate Canada in the Eastern Ontario Section.

After a yearlong effort by the Executive of both the Richmond and Stittsville skating clubs, the new club was formed in the spring of 2004. The skating club is a member of Skate Canada and is run solely by a group of dedicated volunteers. With the exception of the professional skating coaches who teach our programs, the club has no paid employees. GSC offers 40.5 hours of skating programs weekly and these are offered at all the 3 Goulbourn arenas.

Last year a contest was held to design the logo for the new Goulbourn Skating Club. This contest was won by B. Wilson and L. Pangborn. Bob has spent countless hours, perfecting this design.

The Goulbourn Skating Club is run by a group of dedicated volunteers. In the inaugural year, the Executive is comprised of past executives from both the Stittsville and Richmond Skating Clubs.
